The original outer casing of the Great Pyramid was made of highly polished white limestone that reflected sunlight so brilliantly that the Egyptians called it <hl>"Ikhet" — meaning "Glorious Light."</hl> An earthquake in 1303 CE dislodged most of the casing stones.
